for everyone

As características segundo a Fuji:

Wherever the faces are in the frame, Face Detection will automatically identify them and bring the primary subject into focus. A simple push of a button sets your imagination free to compose photos like never before.
Unlike conventional AF that targets mainly subject in the center, Face Detection instantly and accurately identifies faces everywhere in the scene and brings them into clear focus.
Even in dimly lit scenes, Face Detection and high-sensitivity performance combine for outstanding photos that capture facial expressions and background in rich natural detail.

Depending on the brightness of detected faces, Face Detection will activate Intelligent Flash if necessary.
Face Detection optimizes exposure for detected faces so your photos of people are brighter with natural face and skin tones.

Canon’s first wide angle Digital IXUS includes DIGIC III and Face Detection

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, 14 September, 2006: Canon today debuts its latest offering for the style-conscious photo enthusiast – the Digital IXUS 850 IS. The 7.1 Megapixel camera introduces wide-angle zoom capability to the Digital IXUS range for the first time with an optical Image Stabilizer and 28mm (35mm equivalent) 3.8x optical zoom lens.

Geared to satisfy serious photographers, the ultra-compact Digital IXUS 850 IS stays true to its design heritage with a smoothly sculpted curvature design and all-metal finish. Enhanced performance and image quality are assured through Canon's latest DIGIC III image processor , which also enables low-noise ISO 1600 shooting and new Face Detection AF/AE – a Canon technology that detects up to nine faces in a frame and automatically optimises the focus and exposure for great people shots.
The Digital IXUS 850 IS will be available from early October.

Key specifications include:

  • 7.1 Megapixels and 3.8x zoom
  • Wide angle 28mm lens with Optical Image Stabilizer
  • DIGIC III with Advanced Noise Reduction and Face Detection
  • AF/AE Safety Zoom for extra telephoto reach
  • ISO 1600
  • High resolution 2.5" LCD17 shooting modes including VGA movies (30 fps) with sound
  • Range of optional accessories including Underwater Case

DIGIC III also empowers new Face Detection AF/AE, which finds all the faces in the frame and sets the most suitable focus point, when the shutter button is depressed half-way. Exposure and flash are controlled to ensure proper illumination of both the faces and the overall scene, eliminating the common problem of darkened or overexposed faces.

iSAPS Technology
iSAPS Technology is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the fast DIGIC III Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance.

Essa é uma tecnologia que pode me fazer mudar de idéia quanto a ter uma Panasonic ultra compacta com wide angle como 2ª camera...
